This site will showcase my favorite things to do in the White City and I invite travelers to send stories and suggestions about their Tel Aviv, as well.

A couple of years ago, a friend contacted me and said a friend of theirs was going to Israel and "did I have any suggestions of fun things to do in Tel Aviv?" Thus began the arduous, time-sucking creation of the never-ending email that I have been forwarding to God-only-knows how many people; each forward with new additional edits and ideas. It was becoming a monster. Finally, someone said, you should just write this all down in a blog. Hmmm, I hate blogs, but I do love sharing my favorite Tel Aviv hangouts, food and music with others, so here goes.

So, I present you with TelAviv4one.com. While it sounds like a blog for single people, it won't be. I have a family, and we spend time in Israel together all the time. My husband, however, is bemoaning the fact that I'm writing a blog as if he and my children didn't exist, [insert eye roll here]. But I think I will be particularly helpful to those who are spending some time, whether it be a couple of nights or a month, in Tel Aviv by themselves. I have some favorites restaurants that have a great spot for one person at the bar, or city walks that are safe (Tel Aviv is pretty safe in general) and interesting, or just cool places to sit by yourself and have a cappuccino or wine and people-watch. I have a good list of "don'ts" to share, as well.

Let's hear about your Tel Aviv

I hear from people who have been hanging out in Tel Aviv all the time. I would love to post your favorite itineraries, restaurants, bars and clubs, day trips or things to do. You can email me at maryalicegrossman@gmail.com and I will be happy to add your stories to this blog. Follow this blog on Instagram: @telaviv4one and add #telaviv4one #mytelaviv.

I have a lot of favorite things to do beyond Tel Aviv, and you probably do, too. Stay tuned for features on:

  • Jerusalem

  • Bethlehem/West Bank

  • Jaffa

  • Kibbutizm

For now telaviv4one.com is a non-commercial travel blog for anyone who likes Tel Aviv. Even if you've never been there, or maybe plan to go one day, you might find something helpful on this site.

About Me

I'm a former newspaper owner and publisher living in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. I travel to Israel whenever I can because I love it. I am married to a full-time musician and gave birth to two children who are all grown up, but still ask me for gas money and fancy haircuts.
